Effective Communication
Communication is a sign of life and central to human activity. Look at the myriad of ways in which we use it in our daily lives. From language, to music and codes, it is at the heart of every day activity. It's defined as a process by which we assign and convey meaning in an attempt to create shared understanding. This process requires a vast repertoire of skills in intrapersonal and interpersonal processing, listening, observing, speaking, questioning, analyzing, and evaluating. It's defined as the dynamic process of message exchange between a sender and receiver. By studying this academic discipline, humans learn to develop their skills and are empowered with the ability to apply them in their professional careers and personal relationships. It is a sharing of information with others.
This sharing is often formed around the principles of respect, promises and the want for social improvement. People use it to satisfy needs in both their work and non-work lives. It is the articulation of sending a message, through different media whether it be verbal or nonverbal, so long as a being transmits a thought provoking idea, gesture, action, etc. It is the most talked about and least understood area of human behavior. Our ability to communicate in so many ways is unique to the human race.
